About CFR
The volunteers which serve the fire department are comprised of your neighbors, friends and relatives. They’re people just like you – with families, jobs and active lifestyles who find time to give back to their community.
Established in 1936, the Chichester Volunteer Fire Department is a combination fire & EMS department that is a provider of emergency services for the residents and businesses within Chichester, NH and the surrounding communities when called upon for mutual aid. Currently the department is running 500+ calls per year.
The town of Chichester is covered 24/7/365 by the members of fire department out of the Chichester fire station. The fire station is manned from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm and the remaining hours (6:00 pm to 6:00 am) utilizes assigned coverage duties ensuring that resources are in town to cover all emergencies.
The fire department is also home to college students who live at the station rent free as part of our live in program in exchange for providing staffing.
We take emergency services very seriously and while we are an on-call organization we are committed to providing the town of Chichester with the best services possible.
